SAFETY

Ensuring the safety of our community is paramount. My plan includes strengthening our police force through better training, improved community relations, and smart policing strategies that prioritize the well-being of all residents. By fostering a partnership between law enforcement and the community, we can create a safer environment where trust and cooperation thrive.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Our district deserves modern, sustainable infrastructure that supports our growing needs. I am committed to pushing for comprehensive zoning reforms, reducing pollution through correct measurements, and improving roadwork efficiency. These changes will not only enhance our daily lives but also ensure our environment is preserved for future generations.

BUSINESS GROWTH

Economic vitality is crucial for our community’s prosperity. I propose keeping more funds Louisville generates to create tax incentives for businesses and increased funding for startups to stimulate local economic growth. These initiatives will attract and retain entrepreneurs, creating jobs and fostering an environment where businesses can thrive and contribute back to the community.

PERSONAL GROWTH

Investing in education and empowerment, job training and versed skills programs is essential for personal and community growth. My vision includes enhancing educational opportunities, immediately addressing the growing need of neighbors who suffer with mental health following the pandemic, substance abuse dissorders, supporting lifelong learning, and building community programs that empower individuals to reach their potential. This holistic approach will strengthen our community’s fabric and uplift all residents.

URBAN DEVELOPMENT

Our city must evolve with its growing population, and that means updating our outdated zoning laws and proper urban planning to reflect current needs. My approach to urban development focuses on efficient growth, sustainable practices, and innovative planning that accommodates our diverse community while enhancing livability in all areas of Jefferson County.

TAX REALLOCATION

Louisville generates substantial revenue through tourism and we carry the strongest Economy in Kentucky. I advocate for the reallocation of taxes back to our district, ensuring that the wealth produced here is reinvested in local projects and services that directly benefit our residents who are invested in our county by living here.

Colin Daugherty McDowell Launches Innovative "Direct Policy Voting"
Initiative to Empower District 36 Residents.

This model ensures that all voices are heard and respected, guiding us toward a more just and inclusive community where we all decide what is best for our district. Recognizing the need for increased civic engagement and the desire for transparent governance, McDowell's initiative will provide residents with balanced educational resources on key issues. These resources will outline both conservative and liberal viewpoints, provided alongside a panel of both democratic and conservative community advisors.

This approach ensures that all residents have the information needed to make informed decisions, fostering a well-rounded understanding of the issues at stake and voting directly on the specific issues that impact us directly.
